Objective
Quantum Grenoble 2 (QuanG2) is an ambitious doctoral programme aimed at training the next generation of researchers on quantum science and technologies. The project is a continuation of the successful QuanG programme and aims to build on its achievements by further integrating interdisciplinary and intersectoral approaches. QuanG2 will recruit 28 researchers over 2 calls. The project is structured around 4 core research axes and a broad interdisciplinary axis, involving 20 laboratories, 15 private companies, and 11 world-class international academics. The research areas include quantum materials, technologies and devices, computing and software, and key enabling technologies. The programme also emphasizes the importance of humanities in exploring the ethical, sociological, and philosophical aspects of quantum technologies. QuanG2 aims to provide outstanding supervision and training in research and transferable skills, with a strong focus on encouraging minorities and women to enter the domain. The project will offer excellent working conditions, a dynamic environment characterized by community and networking, and opportunities for secondments and scientific visits to local quantum-technologies companies and research centers across and beyond Europe. The expected impacts of QuanG2 project include giving fellows the opportunity to be at the forefront of emergent quantum discoveries, diversifying their skill sets, and helping them forge new mindsets and approaches to research and innovation. At the organizational level, the project aims to consolidate and increase the attractiveness of the Grenoble quantum ecosystem and sustain the successful implementation of HRS4R and Innovative Doctoral Training principles. Overall, QuanG2 is designed to sustain the enlarged horizon of quantum science, establish the Grenoble ecosystem as a key enabler for the long-lasting training of young researchers, and actively support EU sovereignty on strategic tech
