TRANSPORT RESEARCH ARENA and TRA VISIONS 2028 in Milan

Objective

The TRA2028 proposal aims to support the organisation of both the TRA conference and TRA VISIONS competition/award in Milan in 2028. The TRA conference will issue a high-quality programme and is expected to be attended by more than 4500 delegates from the triple helix, coming from at least 60 countires in the world. Both proceedings and best papers will be published open access. The TRA VISIONS competition/award will acknowledge the results achieved in the European transport sector. The TRA 2028 Consortium gathers Academia, Industry and Policy makers (triple helix) to enhance the visibility, political significance, and strategic relevance of the European transport sector, while serving as a source of inspiration for future EU policy on mobility. TRA 2028 exhibits three innovative activities: focus on the regional perspective of mobility issues, promotion of start-ups (by means of a dedicated contest), and triple helix approach. Focusing on the three necessities of the Competitiveness Compass, namely innovation, decarbonisation, and reducing dependencies, the TRA 2028 conference will contribute to: -support the development and deployment of innovative solutions in Europe and Associated Countries within the mobility sector -make the European Union and its green policies more relevant at political and strategic level in the transport sector -increase attractiveness of transport related studies -increase Europe’s competitiveness in the transport sector. Finally, TRA 2028 Consortium will support the subsequent edition of TRA.
