Objective
This project will explore Floquet light-matter crystals (FLIMAC), a new paradigm where atomic arrays and photonic crystal lattices are dynamically modulated in time. Unlike static systems, these platforms enable strong and tunable photon–emitter interactions through temporal control of photonic modes and couplings. To explore their potential, the project will develop theoretical tools to describe such intrinsically non-Markovian dynamics and apply them to two key objectives: (i) exploiting time-modulated photonic reservoirs to enhance the strength and flexibility of photon-mediated interactions, and (ii) engineering multi-photon scattering from modulated emitters to design deterministic, frequency-multiplexed photonic quantum gates. By bridging advanced theory with experimentally relevant architectures, FLIMAC will establish a foundation for quantum interfaces that harness dynamical control to realize many-body interactions and enable scalable quantum technologies.
